Fifth Character!
2 CommentsPresenting design concepts for my fifth and final main character, Cyricus!
Cyricus is a Musian wing-rider. As a Musian, he is from the most martial of the five nations. All Musian men go through rigorous military training, and the Musian War College is considered the finest military academy in the known world, bar none. As a wing-rider, Cyricus is part of an elite branch of Musian cavalry that rides great birds into battle.
Some of you may remember from way way back that the Musians have more pronounced sexual dimorphism than the other races. Musian women are tall and purple-skinned, while the men are shorter, stockier, bronze-skinned, and have purple hair.
I am leaning toward the third option for Cyricus’ armor. Musian men tend to leave their upper arms bared. They have tattoos and markings on their upper arms that show what rank and what unit/battalion/division, etc., the warrior hails from. Some Musian men extend their tattoos across other parts of their bodies (typically the chest), but all are required to wear the upper arm marks.
I’ll flesh out Cyricus a little more very soon. In fact, I’m participating in 30 Characters again this year and I think Cyricus will be a perfect way to kick off that challenge. I know this blog has been quiet for a few weeks, and that is about to change. My 30 Characters challenge this year will be to create 30 different Djinnborn characters. Most of these characters will feature as “NPCs” and supporting cast in the story. I have certain characters I know I want to sketch together. The rest will be random folks from all different races!
So I hope you’re still watching because this month is going to really pick up the pace!
