1. Superhero Characters!

   Yeah, yeah, I know it’s not Djinnborn. But a little known fact: I am sloooowly developing a superhero comic on the side. It’s a project I plan to launch once Djinnborn is well underway. I really like the superhero genre overall, but I find some of the conventions very frustrating. So I made it a long-term project to create my own superhero group and do superheroes “right.”

   Most of these characters are based on characters I’ve played in the past, or are characters my girlfriend has helped me create. They’re meant to be more underground types of heroes — roughly like the Runaways. Not officially sanctioned or recognized, thrown together by an odd twist of fate, and fighting the good fight despite the odds. They’ll fight in the shadow of greater, more recognized teams, but will pull through nonetheless.

   Anyway, enough about that for now. I could spend all day talking about my plans. Right now, I just want to throw my character ideas out and get them off my chest so I can refocus on Djinnborn some more!

2. Dialogue – Osoron and the Chancellor

   I’ve started writing sample dialogues to prepare myself for writing the comic’s dialogue. It’s good practice for finding my characters’ voices and personalities. They also help pass the time on my walk to and from work each day. I installed Evernote on my phone and I tap out stories, plot info, and dialogues with my thumbs the whole way. If you see any bizarre typos, that’s probably because of a bad autocorrect that I didn’t catch in my edits.

   One of these days, all this typing while walking is going to be the death of me!

   Since I need to make a blog post, I thought I’d share one of these dialogues with you.

   This story takes place after Osoron has become Caliph. He quickly learns that life as a nation’s ruler is a lot different from life as a skyship captain.

3. Djinnborn World

   Hey folks! Been a while! Sorry about that. Had to finish up a commission, but I finally got it done and now I’m on the way to getting Djinnborn rolling.
